
Chisako brings over 20 years of experience in Japan’s clinical research and pharmaceutical sectors, combining deep operational expertise with a proven track record in business development.
A licensed pharmacist, she has held senior leadership roles at global CROs, overseeing complex Phase I–III clinical studies across diverse therapeutic areas, and managing teams of up to 150 professionals.
Before joining Akesa, Chisako was Senior Director, Customer Alliance at IQVIA Services Japan, where she managed 15–20 projects for key clients, led strategic client engagement, and worked closely with global business development teams. Her career also includes senior roles in international business development and project management at CMIC Holdings and Quintiles (now IQVIA), where she played a pivotal role in standardising project delivery and driving operational excellence.
In her role as Country Manager, Japan, Chisako represents Akesa’s presence in the market, serving as the responsible pharmacist on Akesa’s Japanese licence. She leads business development activities, builds relationships with sponsors, manufacturers, and key stakeholders, and ensures regulatory compliance while working closely with the Melbourne team to deliver high-quality, compliant pharmaceutical services.
Fluent in Japanese and English, Chisako is passionate about fostering cross-cultural collaboration and enhancing access pathways for clinical trial and pharmaceutical products in Japan.
